Luxury Travel in Africa: The Lux Collective Opens in Zanzibar

The Lux Collective and ZK Venture Company, located in Zanzibar, signed a hotel management agreement. The companies will open the region’s first LUX resort.

The group’s entry into the new Tanzanian destination of Zanzibar is a strategic move. They aim to strengthen the company’s position in the East African economy. The hotel opened as LUX Marijani Zanzibar on July 1, 2023, boasting a private, pristine beach with views of the Indian Ocean.

“We are privileged and excited to partner with the ZK Venture Company in Zanzibar to operate this five-star boutique beach resort, raising its luxury quotient and service to another level,” said Paul Jones, Chief Executive Officer of The Lux Collective. “This marks the start of our meaningful partnership in the region of East Africa where the tourism potential is limitless. We are confident that the partnership will elevate our flagship luxury brand LUX, as we continue to expand our footprint globally.”

Holistic Wellbeing Experiences

The LUX Marijani Zanzibar, situated in Pwani Mchangani, has established itself as a leading destination for eco-friendly luxury vacations. The luxurious boutique resort offers a modern Arabic decoration style. It features a private, pristine beach in front of the backdrop of the Indian Ocean.

All 82 rooms and suites will feature LUX signature elegant decor, comfort and friendly, personalized service. It will have a spa offering individualized holistic wellbeing experiences, a pool and more. This makes it an ideal location for business, leisure and wedding events.

The brand also plans to open 12 hotels for the Asia-Pacific and Middle Eastern regions.

Other Things To Do

The hotel is about an hour’s drive from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport. Stone Town, Old Fort Zanzibar, the Hamamni Persian Baths, and the Jozani Forest nature trail and Spice Farm tour are all perfect stops for tourists. They allow visitors to learn about the island’s rich history in the spice trade. The Lux Collective grew its international reach to include 17 hotels and resorts in different countries. These countries include Mauritius, the Maldives, Ile de la Reunion, China, and Tanzania.
