(BPRW) New Fellowship Program Aims to Increase Diversity in the Humanitarian Sector

Generation Next Humanitarian Fellowship Program is now accepting applications for paid fellowship positions!

(Black PR Wire) Washington, DC — The Generation Next Humanitarian Fellowship Program (GenNext Fellowship Program) is a brand-new initiative of the Public Health Institute (PHI), supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). GenNext Fellowship Program is a two-year paid fellowship that aims to increase the diversity of professionals in the humanitarian sector by building a pathway for recent graduates of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Asian American and Pacific Islander Institutions and Tribal Colleges and Universities. Fellows are immersed into humanitarian work through firsthand placement at humanitarian organizations and building a foundation through invaluable field experience.

GenNext Fellowship Program has partnered with CARE, Global Communities, Project Hope and Save the Children, who serve as our hosting partners where Fellows will enhance knowledge and skills growth, expand professional networks and obtain career development through a robust mentorship program. GenNext Fellowship Program is also actively recruiting for more hosting partners to add to our consortium.

By creating new pathways into the humanitarian sector and providing guided professional development opportunities and mentorship, the Generation Next Humanitarian Fellowship Program will ultimately contribute to a humanitarian workforce that reflects the rich diversity of the U.S. population, and is equipped to equitably and effectively respond to humanitarian needs around the world.
