TheGrio is the largest Black newsroom in America committed to reporting the latest news, politics, entertainment and lifestyle content because we believe a well-informed community best determines its own interests. TheGrio comes to you with five distinct businesses: a website, live events, a cable network, a mobile and streaming app, and a podcast network.

Comedian, producer, media mogul and philanthropist, purchased theGrio in 2016 to provide compelling entertainment, news and lifestyle content targeting African-Americans. Entertainment Studios, Allen’s Los Angeles-based company, is the first and largest Black-owned multiplatform media studio producing and distributing movies and content for all platforms.
Senior vice president and chief content officer, is responsible for editorial content, programming, brand and platform development, and partnerships. ​She managed the expansion of theGrio from a news site to include a streaming and mobile app, live events, a podcast network and a cable network.
